Cats Rule

Cats Rule is a comic based around two cats and their journey coupled with their joy in destruction.

Experiments in Thought and Otherwise

Schroedinger’s Cat is a thought experiment in philosophy, and is a part of a graphic novel in process, which revolves around experiments in thought by famous physicists, philosophers, and scientists. The main objective was to make people aware of these experiments and make them think, using lettering and illustration to facilitate the reader’s capacity to take in information. Since these theories are very tedious, the technical information is placed on paper flaps throughout the book, whereas the basic information is hand written on every page along with my take on the same.

Alice in Wonderland

The mini accordion for Alice in Wonderland is a collation of a bunch of various creatures and objects from the narrative along with an added twist (example: Mock Turtle inspired by the Victorian Mock Turtle Soup wearing a turtle neck, Drink Me Bottle synonymous to a milk bottle that can make you taller and bigger, etc. to name a few) The main aim here is to focus on everything but Alice from the story and bring out the nuances of all the other characters that usually take a backseat and weave a story through them.

Shoe Safety

Shoe Safety is inspired by the awesome, silly and sometimes ridiculous shoes I spot people wearing in the subway. This is the introduction chapter to the same, and I plan to expand this project to house many more such shoes.

The Composites

A composite material is essentially a material made from two or more constituent materials possessing significantly different physical or chemical properties that, when combined, produce a material with characteristics different from their individual components altogether.

The idea behind The Composites is somewhat similar, although it tends to a more fictional side, taking everyday mundane objects and looking at the outcome when they are combined with certain types of food items. These machines, however random and insignificant, may or may not exist as of today, and that is also one of the core thoughts underlying this project.

THE BACON SHARPENER
------------------------------------------

Who doesn't love crispy bacon? And this Bacon Sharpener gives you exactly that. As the lever on the bacon box rotates, it dispenses bacon, that pushes through the sharpener. The sharpener's lever facilitates its sharpening and you eventually end up with the crispiest bacon.

THE PRINTER TOASTER
-----------------------------------------

This machine illustrates a combination of a laptop with a toaster (instead of the usual printer) The outcome here is literally, the toasted artwork. Thus, the function of this device is to replicate the artwork on your laptop onto a slice of bread (This machine works in both, black and white and colour)

THE COTTON CANDY SEWING MACHINE
--------------------------------------------------------------------

This machine incorporates the fluffiness of cotton candy into fabric. The cotton candy machine is attached to a sewing machine, which can literally sew cotton candy. This machine provides you with the softest cotton candy shawl.

Jack or Fig

Jack or Fig is a short story for children (aged 6-7) inspired from the thought experiment in philosophy- Ship of Theseus. It takes you on a journey through the eyes of a little girl Mina, who comes across a grafted tree in the forest.

The original idea was to have an appendix to the book (of which you can see two variations at the end of the project) explaining the thought experiment so the child is introduced to it. However, in the end it looked too forced and a little too much to take in for a child, and hence it wasn't included in the book.

Unlike most children's books that have a moral or a conclusion, Jack or Fig aims to leave the reader with a lot of questions and a certain sense of confusion and wonder, regarding the identity of the tree. This is to introduce the child to the concept of a thought experiment, where there is no right or wrong answer, but only speculative questions.

Channapatna Font

Channapatna toys are a particular form of wooden toys that are manufactured in the town of Channapatna in the Bangalore Rural district of the state of Karnataka. I chose this as my concept to create a font to depict one of the aspects of Bangalore since these toys are one of its unique features.

The ultimate result was a typographic poster highlighting these toys.

Celtic Cló Font

Celtic Clo'  inspired by Celtic mythology that is eminent in parts of Ireland and Scotland, is a display font based on traditional irish patterns and symbols with a modern twist of a graphic style created digitally, contrary to the intricate hand painted lettering done
